Meet The Founder
Hi, I’m Brooke Hogg, founder of The Mental Coach, LLC. I created this platform out of a meaningful purpose for helping athletes thrive, not just physically, but mentally. With a Bachelor of Science in Health/Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and certification as a Sport Social Worker, I’ve combined my focus on athletic excellence with my background in mental health to support athletes at every level.
My focus on working with athletes-especially youth athletes-began after my professional journey as a social worker, starting as a spectator. I attended the annual Whataburger Basketball Tournament in Dallas, Texas, where some of the nation’s top high school basketball teams competed for championships and college scholarships. Watching these young athletes face intense pressure and demonstrate incredible potential sparked a deep interest in the mental side of performance and the support they needed to truly thrive.
As I observed, it became clear that while these athletes possessed extraordinary talent, many struggled with the mental challenges of competition, such as managing pressure, maintaining confidence when the pace of the game shifted, and staying focused amidst the blaring voices of parents and intense coaches. I found myself asking, "How do these athletes juggle the demands of being a competitive athlete, managing schoolwork, and navigating their home and social lives?"
In my quest to find answers, I began researching mental health and mental performance in athletes, only to discover a lack of platforms that truly explained both concepts and their differences. This gap fueled my desire to create a space where athletes could not only enhance their physical strength but also develop the mental resilience essential for success. This led to the creation of The Mental Coach, LLC, with the mission to equip athletes with the mental tools they need to perform at their best, overcome challenges, and enjoy their athletic journey.
